Marine Invaders The Card Game is an educational New Zealand Marine Biosecurity Card Game designed to highlight native species and the battle of the fittest against pest invasive species.

Tiritiri Matangi is an island located in the Tīkapa Moana/Hauraki Gulf and the health of the ocean is somthing we care very deeply about.

The game was tested and played in schools, at festivals and community events, in workshops at conferences and in libraries. One game takes less than 15 min to complete.

Marine Invaders was developed by Elizabeth Copeland (University of Waikato).

She designed the game to help ocean enthusiasts dive deeper into species identification, and to highlight the impact of invasive species and how we can support native species to thrive.

She hopes the game can empower the swimmers, boaties, divers, beach walkers, fisher people and water crafters to look around and learn about the moana.vAfter all they are the everyday scientists!

Her dream is to stop marine pest species spreading across New Zealand - and this can only be done with the support of the community.
