Product Details

Unique recycled plastic earrings to match a unique native bird!

Kōtare/sacred kingfisher are known for their dazzling blue feathers.

These earrings are made from 3D printer waste and every feather is different! The plastic is sourced from Kiwifil, another NZ recycling company and is material they couldn't use.

  • Dimensions: feather 4cm x 1cm at widest point
  • Hooks: Hypoallergenic (silver in colour)
  • Made from PLA (3D printer waste) in Christchurch, NZ by Remix Plastic
  • Each feather is unique with its own colours (and blemishes)

The Kōtare/sacred kingfisher are found throughout New Zealand and can often be spotted around the coastline of Tiritiri Matangi. They breed and nest inland where they feed on insects through warmer months. When the weather cools and the insects are not as plenty, they head to coastal areas to catch fish.
