Product Details
A unique brooch inspired by the beautiful New Zealand native bird, the Huia.
This brooch is made from 3D printer waste and every feather is different! The plastic is sourced from Kiwifil, another NZ recycling company and is material they couldn't use.
- Dimensions: feather 4cm x 1cm at widest point
- Made from PLA (3D printer waste) in Christchurch, NZ by Remix Plastic
- Each feather is unique with its own colours (and blemishes)
The Huia is a NZ native bird with stunning, white-tipped feathers. In pre-European times only high-ranking chiefs and their whanau wore the tail feathers in their hair.
The Huia species became extinct around the early 1900s. It is a reminder of the importance of conservation work which Tiritiri Matangi Open Sanctuary is an example of.
