Other Native Birds

A number of other native birds are found on Tiritiri Matangi.  Many of these have found their way from the mainland and move freely between the two locations.  Most years Tiritiri Matangi is visited by a pair of Paradise Shelduck who nest and raise their young then disappear again for another year.  Banded Tiritiri Matangi birds are often seen on nearby Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
