Greg
Date posted: 15-Aug-2012Sadly, Greg the Takahe died on Sunday 12th August. As many Island regulars will know, Greg had been in failing health over the past year or so. He had been looking poorly for a day or two and was taken off the Island for veterinary care on Saturday. He had lost a lot of weight and seemed very unwell.
It is likely that Greg will be buried on the Island on Sunday 19th, though this is still to be confirmed.
The Supporters are planning an event to celebrate Greg's life and contribution to Tiri and to the wider conservation of Takahe. This will take place in a few weeks and details will be circulated to our members and friends.
