Arthropodium cirratum

Rengarenga lily foliageRengarenga lily flowersArthropodium cirratum (Rengarenga or rock lily) is a plant which colonises rocky coastal areas from the North Cape to a southern limit from Kaikoura to Greymouth. Leaves are light green and strap-like.

The plants can form extensive colonies and in summer bear panicles of six petalled white flowers on 30 cm stalks from spring to mid-summer. The flowers have purple and yellow stamens which are curled at the ends and give rise to the specific name cirratum (curled).
