Kunzea ericoides
Tea Tree
|
|
15m. – A very important colonising
plant after periods of destruction, which forms a shrubby tree.
Small 5mm. Flowers from late spring
to mid summer. The rough bark is a haven for insects. Easily
confused with Manuka whose flowers and seed capsules are larger than Kanuka. The easiest way to tell them apart is to grasp the leaves. The leaves of Kanuka are softer to touch than the similar
looking Manuka which feel very prickly. The flowers and seed capsules are also
smaller.
