Ipomea Cairica     NZ Morning Glory

Ipomea CairicaAn indigenous vine with prostrate, often twining stems up to 4m or more long.

It is best recognized by its white or mauve funnel-shaped flowers with deep purple centres.

The leaves are divided into 5-7 pointed lobes, each lobe 3-5cm long.

Common throughout the tropics and sub-tropics. Tiri is thought to be the southernmost limit of its natural range.
